RE: global_config not found error
Make sure your folder structure is as follows:
{main Primo folder}
>content
>>global_cfg (folder)
>>>global_cfg.zip (file--not unzipped!)

This is likely wrong:
[folders]
app="StorageCard\mobilenavigator"

The path may be wrong, and the application should have an .exe on the end.

For now, just eliminate the [folders] section altogether, restart, and see what happens.
Other stuff within your sys.txt is probably not needed or may be wrong, but this a different issue.

Thank you Yurbuh Tuggly,

I did as you said but unfortunately I still have the terminal error.

My sys.txt was so verbose because I used the excellent System configurator that was posted, and it was working but it kept finding "radar camouflage" everywhere. I removed that and some speed cameras but I did the unthinkable and did not keep a copy of the working one so I ended up with the global_config not found error.

I took the sys.txt that robynk posted and inserted it into mine. It works but the TTS cuts out and sometimes is unreadable so it is unsatisfactory.

I guess that I am back to experimenting unless someone is kind enough to post me a SYS.txt that works well on a 800 X 480 resolution unit.

Thanks for replying
Cheers

Hi robynk,

Thank you for replying and for your download post. I inserted your sys.txt into mine and it worked. Thankyou.
Unfortunately the speech is disjointed and the TTS instructions are unusable.

Hi Bazzle,

Thank you. You are certainly the best. Both igo and Primo operate so well that I do not know which one to use. I lean towards Prime as I can enter the street withour having to know the suburb. I only have a 2GB mini SD card so there may not be room for them both.

Thanks again

RE: global_config not found error
Hi Bazzle,

I have the 8GB micro sd card but I cannot see how the iGo8 and Primo can work in the same card as they both have the same .exe.

What is the advantage of having both software programs using the same maps on the same card?

I am very happy with the iGo Primo software.

Thanks again
Sailbilly

RE: global_config not found error
@ sailbilly

I don't know for sure how the two programs in bazzle's download are arranged on the SD card but they could be in their own separate folders, perhaps called "igo8" and "primo" respectively, each with their own folders for maps etc. And you just set the path to the executable, to the particular one you want to run. Or you could set up separate menus to do that. You couldn't share the executable, of course.

In the "sys.txt" for the "primo", you would in this case have:

[folders]
has_secondary_root=0

Alternatively if it has been set up to share the maps in the "igo8" folder, or elsewhre, there would need to be other lines in the "sys.txt", pointing to where the folders for maps etc., are for "primo" and/or "igo8" to read.

On my SDs, I prefer to have the two to be in separeate folders, complete in their own right, (but on the same SD), just for simplicity.

The advantage of sharing maps etc., would be to save space on SD, but these days with 4+ GB sized cards, available at very affordable prices, I dont consider that to be a problem.
