help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
Just looking for a bit of help here - have Navman S45 with no card installed.

Dir structure is

My Documents
My Pictures

Navman
database
maps
POIS
polys
sound
TMC

Program Files
Navman
SmartST_CE
appdata
data
MapCols
TTSdata
UI
Userdata

and files in root dir are

app_startup.txt
device.XML
ephdata.clm
paths.xml
source.txt

I want to install IGO8 or 8.3 - I have mucked around with IGO8 and not been able to get this to work....various errors - cant find maps etc..

can anyone please help as to what files i need in the root dir and the dir structure to get this device running with IGO8

thanks

can anyone point me in the right direction now as to what I need to do to get IGO8 running. Ive created a dir called IGO8 with the files/dirs (audio content custom defaults license save tts_log) - but what else do i need to do? thanks for any help - having probs getting this to work

Have a good read of: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
Open up notepad on your pc and paste this into a text file 27#"\My Flash Disk\iGO8\iGO8.exe" save this as iGO8.lnk remembering to set Save as type to All Files (*.*) the saved file goes in the desktop folder of the navman. You may need to edit 27#"\My Flash Disk\iGO8\iGO8.exe" to suit your particular path to iGO8.exe

remember the extension is LNK not iNK and not lnk.exe

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
try going to programs and see if there is an Icon for GPS program. if so that should take you to the GPS screen where you should be able to go to settings\navigation\navi path. you then browse for the right path to your igo program ie nandflash\igo\igo.exe or whatever the path is.

hope this helps

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
ok I created iGO8.lnk with the contents 27#"\My Flash Disk\iGO8\iGO8.exe"

now when i start up I can see the SmartST icon and the IGO8 icon - when i select IGO8 i get an error
program application database cannot be found

do i leave the above line as My Flash DIsk given this is running on the internal wotever and not an external SD card?

my igo8 files are located in the root dir under IGO8 and dirs under there are audio content custom defaults license save tts_log

thanks everyone for the help - much appreciated
i think i found the problem

the sys.txt file looks like below

;[device]
;type="HTC Touch HD T8282"

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1

[tts]
tts_buffer=131072
tts_logics=3
priority="HIGH"
always_say_road_names=1
announce_street_name=1
announce_exit_directions=1
skip_exit_numbers=0

[sound]
queue_length=200

for for

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

what do i change this to given i have no SD card - just app="/iGO8" or app="%my flash disk%/iGO8"

sorry for the questions......
i changed it to app="%my flash disk%/iGO8"
and still get the error
program application database cannot be found

hope someone can help me please?

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
For starters you can delete
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

you may need:
[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
screen_x=480
screen_y=272

Do you have a file called iGO8.exe in your igo directory?
Can you tell us what is in your igo8 directory.

In the navman do you have a file called FileManCE. Could be in the unlock folder or in Programs, if you can find it you can move or copy it to the desktop folder then reboot the navman and then you should be able to use it navigate to iGO8.exe to run it.

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
fantastic - app="/My Flash Disk/iGO8" worked ok

now i have to fix the screen resolution since IGO is only using part of the screen

also I am starting IGO8 by clicking on the desktop once the nav has booked up - how can i get this to start automatically?

should i also be using a newer version of IGO and also the maps - running australiaR17 whereis map data and basemap 2009.02

thanks again for all your help :)

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
do you have this in the sys.txt:

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
screen_x=480
screen_y=272

R18 is the latest map. 8.3 is fine, you can try using a skin to add more features, but suggest you get used to the standard igo first. Base map is not important.

RE: help installing IGO8/8.3 on Navman S45
well having got IGO8 running with lots of great help (thank you) - I tested the GPS today in the car...its at this point i need to ask for more help....sorry

firstly the clock flashes on and off constantly in the top right of the screen

the clock is showing the wrong time all the time - ive set this in control panel to no avail

there appears to be no voice guidance at all - when i click on voice guidance volume and change it - it says have a nice trip drive carefully

I also tried to navigate somewhere and the GPS didnt know where it was - its showing an incorrect address for where i am....and when i goto settings and GPS - the GPS is enabled but above this is says GPS receiver cannot be found
